Thomas Fischer (born 1967) holds an MA in psychology from the University of Erlangen-Nürnberg and received training in behavioural psychotherapy from the University of Bamberg, both universities are located in Germany. He is currently working as Senior Researcher at FIM-NewLearning at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg. He is also external consultant and reviewer for national, European and international projects/organisations, an Associate Board Member of the MENON Network EEIG based in Brussels, Belgium and juror in national and European e-Learning awards. He used to teach at the Friedrich-Alexander University of Erlangen-Nürnberg. He is currently tele-working for his institute having his desk at the Lambrakis Foundation in Athens, Greece. His experience includes European and national research and project management e.g. under IST, eLearning Action Plan & Programme, LEONARDO, SOCRATES, GRUNDTVIG, ESPRIT, INCO Copernicus, ADAPT programmes of the European Commission and within national projects. His main interests and activities are i) the implementation, maintenance and evaluation of blended e-Learning, e-Qualification and e-Training in different areas and for different target groups (e.g. trans-generational learning, tele-working, total quality and environmental management; for women returning to work, persons with special needs, prisoners, drug addicts), ii) research on e-Learning standards and quality aspects, iii) action research in the areas of e-Inclusion, iv) market observation and forecast studies on ICT in Education & Training (E&T) systems and for Lifelong Learning, v) user needs analyses, statistics, indicator and index systems for ICT in Education & Training (E&T), Lifelong Learning and for e-Inclusion, vi) research projects in the areas of clinical and forensic psychology and psychology and the law and vii) the development of Learning Regions support networks.
