EAGLE Showcase - Intergenerational Practice in Europe
Explore the EAGLE collection and analysis of Practice Case Studies on intergenerational learning in Europe ...
During the Field Research Phase, EAGLE performed an extensive and systematic analysis
of a significant number of Practice Case Studies on intergenerational learning six European countries.
The analysis was based on the common 'Integrated Methodology & Analysis Grid' developed at the beginning of and validated throughout the life cycle
of EAGLE.
EAGLE collected and analysed 31 Practice Case Studies and
their contribution to intergenerational learning. Detailed selection
criteria (i.e. geography; intergenerational learning activities; variety of user groups etc) were defined in order to extract the final practice cases. The in-depth
data collection and analysis process was build upon a multi-angular and
multi-dimensional approach:
- Step 1: A desk research based content and report analysis;
- Step 2: Interviews (e.g. face-to-face; focus groups; telephone) with key stakeholders (i.e. programme or case managers);
- Step 3: Observation and study visits of the actual learning in practice.
The following 31 In-depth Case Studies from six European countries have been selected and analysed. Their ‘Case Study Identity Cards’ can be obtained by clicking on the country of interest:
- Intergenerational Learning in England
- Intergenerational Learning in Finland
- Intergenerational Learning in Germany
- Intergenerational Learning in Greece
- Intergenerational Learning in Italy
- Intergenerational Learning in Romania
The European EAGLE Report 'Intergenerational Learning in Europe. Field Research Synthesis Report' (the Annexes are not contained as they are presented as separate documents above i.e. the Case Study Analysis Grid and the European Case Studies) summarises the entire case study collection and analysis process. It should be finally emphasised that final selection of case studies is not intended to be representative, but should display a significant selection of intergenerational practices in Europe and to ensure an appropriate coverage amongst the identified selection criteria.
